“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men. Yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11-12
We would love to begin by wishing you a very happy New Year! May this year be filled with joy, love and immeasurably more than you could ask for or imagine! We are looking forward to celebrating the newness and the goodness of God in our lives as we step into this new year, no matter where we may be at. In light of this, let’s talk about celebrating the old and the new.
A Fresh Start
Wow, don’t you love the feeling of a fresh start? As the year begins, without dragging its feet, we are pondering on why it is that we celebrate New Years Day. As well as why it is that we make New Year’s resolutions at the start of each new year. Maybe the end of an old year is a celebration of our surviving another year, kind of like another birthday or maybe it is a celebration of a milestone in our lives. New Year’s Eve can mean different things to different people.
I definitely believe that people need celebration in order to keep motivated and moving forward into their next season, where we will always need strength, endurance, and a reminder of how far we have come before no matter what the time ahead holds for us.
No matter how you choose to begin your new year we encourage you to be free in knowing that you do not need to be in control of everything the future has to hold. We can never know the future, but we can trust in the One who created it all, so with this, let us celebrate the past and the future with our God. Let us begin to recognise that life is for us to fully embrace, and enjoy in the present moments. Life is full of wonderful things! Let’s resolve to embrace the present moments for exactly what they are, bad or good… Let’s try our best to remain hope-filled throughout 2019.
