CBN Africa Prayerline is a ministry committed to believing with others for financial breakthrough, restoration in relationships and seeing the Kingdom come in the lives of people from all over Africa.

On the 17th of August 2017, Salama Ministries, supported by The Christian Broadcasting Network Nigeria, organized a Women Empowerment Program in Kujama, Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State.

The aim is to build capacity, as well as sensitize the widows start businesses and acquire entrepreneurial skills. The areas of training include tailoring, knitting, soap making and catering. We believe that skills acquisition in small and medium enterprises (SME’s) are necessary for empowerment and sustainable development.

Rev. John Kalma, CBN Africa Humanitarian & Disaster Relief Operations Manager, commissioned the program. He was accompanied by the Project Coordinator, Mr. Mailafiya Jock, and Mrs. Saidi Muhamed, the Director of the Center. One hundred and twenty-eight (128) participants were present at the commissioning.

Rev. John Kalma prayed for the widows and the trainees and commissioned it to the glory of God. He encouraged them to have hope in God who is their strength and sufficient to supply their needs. He assured the widows of the organizations prayers and support in terms of further skills acquisition training.

The widows appreciated the initiatives and thanked God for CBN and Salama Health Mission Organization, Kujama, for organizing such a very helpful program.

Here are comments from some of the trainees:

“Thank God for CBN & Salama Health Mission you have blessed our lives. We look forward for more work.” – Rahila Daniel

“CBN and Salama Health Mission are God’s sent to us, we are overwhelmed. I’m undertaking training in knitting, so we pray for more grace upon them and more open doors to train other widows.” – Rhoda Elisha.

“I’m what I’m today because God brought Salama Health Mission & CBN my way, I’m receiving training on soap making and wish to use my experience to produce at commercial level to support my family. Thank God, Salama and CBN for these laudable initiatives. I pray for more financial open doors to train other as well in Jesus name.” – Grace Baba.

“I have desired long time to learn skills in tailoring but haven’t been able to because I didn’t have the money to pay for my training. But today I’m receiving free training courtesy of God, CBN and Salama. To God be all the glory. May God make more provision so that people who are praying like me before in this community could receive this training?” – Angelina Bala

“Thank God, CBN and Salama, now, I can bake all types of cake and I’m empowered with this skill, it is a dream come true. I pray for more showers of blessings and funds for others to also receive this training.” – Hanatu Luka

According to the coordinator Mr. Mailafiya, the widows’ association has over one hundred members. However, only forty members are undertaking the training program right now. This is due to limited budget to take on more widows.

We would like you to join us in prayers towards this project, that God would:

– Open doors to train more widows in other SME’s programs and provide the funds needed to assist trainees with startup kits and for the sustenance of the program.
