Hope is Secure | Pillars of Hope | Part 3

the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” -Psalm 147:11

God’s love never fails. We know this because testimony – ours and others, like in the Psalms – tells us of His unfailing love. If we find our security in God’s love for us, we have an assurance in the security of our hope. God is love (1 John 4:8), and if love never fails, our hope is secure. Remember that Jesus did not come just to die and make a way for us to be saved and go to heaven. He also came to reveal the Father and His grand love for us, the death of Jesus being the final demonstration of this radical love. Reading the gospels should send waves of love and confidence through your soul so that you know and are secure in His love for you. Know that every speck of hope that you apply, you do so because of the evidence of His love through the life of Jesus.

And we know that even when we don’t see what we hope for on this side of eternity, nothing can steal away the security of hope that we have in an eternal life spent with Jesus in heaven. We are already seated with Him in heavenly places, and we live this life as ambassadors of heaven.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” – 1 Peter 1:3-6
